Judge who sentenced her was Chet Tharp, 13th Judicial Circuit, Florida Civil Division. Case is Creek View Homeowners Association, Inc vs Irena Green. Almost all court docs are available online now. Hillsborough County was easy to search with minimal info.
An HOA legally pursued and harassed a friend for decades, forcing her to flee the area, sell at a loss; ultimately, they took her car, blocked her from acquiring a new one, and played some role in the stress leading to her early demise. Like Child Predator (uh, Protective) Services (CPS), HOAs are dangerous and without bounds or recourse. Mow your yard, pay your fine, or prepare for prolonged misery.
She spent more time in jail for Grass than the person who broke into my neighbors house.
Incarcerated for seven days without hearing or bail, for a nonviolent offense. Absolutely inexcusable.
I would NEVER buy a house in a HOA NEVER
I wouldn’t live in an HOA if the house was free.
This could have gone to mediation. This is a civil case. This should not go to court.
Living in an HOA is like living in prison. There’s no freedom in an HOA neighborhood.
